Dads approach things with much more logic than mums. Women are very emotional beings. Adding too much emotion might make one miss the point. Dads break down matters with a why, when, how and when something should or shouldn't be done.
Ambiguity is not the nature of the fatherly discipline. They tend to state exactly what they mean and mean exactly what they state.
Throwing too many words at someone on a simple subject might just get boring. One can get distracted too. A father can simply say 'It's late; lock the door!' One would proceed to lock the door. Too much jibber-jabber is overkill. Adding too much unnecessary information to a simple fact might create ill feelings. Keeping it simple makes it simple to understand.
Some subjects are complex to understand. There are more sensitive matters of discipline that need smartness in addressing.Firstly, a dad breaks down the subject. Then he proceeds to calmly explain the details of every matter at hand. At the end, one is able to comprehend even difficult issues.
The key to discipline is understanding 'why' you should make the right choice.
