According to Ngure, the hug is a big step for the two leaders as they both push to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

Ngure argues that DP Ruto and Kalonzo who have been engaging in confrontational politics will now settle down as they lobby for 2022.

He said chances of DP Ruto working with Kalonzo in 2022 are 100 percent.

"These two leaders have known each other for a long time. Despite their public confrontations, they are political buddies with high chances of succeeding President Kenyatta," Ngure said.

Ngure said the hug between Kalonzo and DP Ruto will fuel up the 2022 succession politics.

On Thursday, during the 16th National prayers at Safari Park, Kalonzo, and DP Ruto hugged each other.

The two leaders also forgave each other both vowing to push for the country's unity.

Kalonzo also lauded President Kenyatta's purge on corruption promising to offer his support.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga present at the prayer meeting also exchanged a hug with President Kenyatta and DP Ruto.

Kenyans have reacted to the hugs and asked the leaders to push for unity and work together in the fight against corruption.
