Despite allegations that Deputy President William Ruto may be betrayed after the famous Raila-Uhuru handshake, the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has explained that the deputy president is the major beneficiary of the handshake.
Speaking during a radio interview, the senator said Ruto will majorly benefit from the calmness of the country since it will be easy for the Jubilee government to deliver.
“The deputy president is the greatest beneficiary of a calm environment. If the former Prime Minister and the president, the main protagonist in the last year elections, that come together, look at how the country is calm,” Murkomen said on Hot 96 FM.
He added that when Kenyans will be re-auditing the Jubilee performance during 2022 elections, DP Ruto will earn the credit and will be elected as the President.
“When you have a peaceful environment for delivery of the Jubilee agenda, who is the greatest beneficiary? It can only be William Ruto.
"But if we continue having chaos for all those four or five years, what will happen is that five years will end and then people will re-audit Jubilee performance and ask themselves, what is the point of giving another term to Jubilee party and also a principal advisor of the person who fail to run the country in the five years,” said Murkomen on Wednesday.
