Deputy President William Ruto was angered with the election of Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Alfred Keter as the chair of the Labour and Social Welfare Committee.

Keter contested against Bura MP Ali Wario who had the backing of Jubilee party top leadership but still won.

It has been revealed that the vocal MP tactfully convinced Opposition MPs in the committee to vote for him and promised to back their candidate – Ford Kenya’s Catherine Wambilianga – for the vice chair position.

Wambilianga, the Bungoma Women Representative floored his Bomet counterpart Joyce Korir.

This, according to the Star, didn't go down well with Deputy President William Ruto promoting the MPs de-whipping from the committee.Keter has in the past been a critic of the Jubilee administration and his relationship with the Deputy President, Rift valley's defacto leader had been lukewarm.
