Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa was in North Rift county of Elgeyo Marakwet on Saturday.
The Jubilee lawmaker was in the county after he was sent by the Deputy President William Ruto to preside over a Harambee at Poror Catholic Church.
DP Ruto was in Mwea, Kirinyaga County on the same day, where he attended a fundraiser for the construction of Karira Catholic Church’s Pastoral Centre in Mwea.
Flanked by Kangogo Bowen whose election as Marakwet East MP was in February annulled by an Eldoret court, Elgeyo Marakwet Deputy Governor Wesley Rotich among other leaders, Barasa delivered Ruto's donation of Sh500,000, with the fundraiser raising a total of Sh2.9 million.
"We will be going back to Kimilili in two months time with the Deputy President for an interdenominational service cum fundraiser for the churches, delivery of good news of building 40 classrooms through infrastructure funds from the Ministry of Education and an announcement of Matili TTI upgrading to National Polytechnic," disclosed the lawmaker.
He said the visit would also see DP Ruto launch upgrading of two major roads to travel standards in preparation for future tarmacking.
The roads include Matili RC, Sikhendu-Maeni-Nasusi-Namboani, Daraja Mbili-Rashid-siuna-Khwiroro-Kamutiong-Kamasielo among other projects.
