Barely  two weeks since he last visited the region, Ruto is on Sunday expected to tour Kisauni constituency, Mombasa where he will be hosted by area MP Ali Mbogo, his new-found ally.

While confirming the DP's visit, Mbogo posted on his Facebook Page saying that Kenya's number two will tour the constituency where he will be addressing perennial land problems that have dogged the region.

"His Excellency the Deputy President William Ruto will be in Kisauni constituency on Sunday at Majaoni Msikitini at around 11 am to discuss about the issue of land and squatter problems in our constituency. Let's come out in large numbers and Welcome our Deputy President," said the post on the MP's Facebook account.

Mbogo who was elected on a Wiper Party ticket has in the past declared his support for Ruto in the 2022 Presidential race. And the DP's visit might only be interpreted as a wider scheme to turn the tables on Joho, the region's political kingpin.

The visit by Ruto also comes barely a week after ODM party fired a warning shot at its Coast MPs who are seemingly switching allegiance to the DP.
