Garissa Township MP Aden Duale and gubernatorial aspirant Bunow Ali Korane have lately been seen traversing the region in what has been largely described as cordial political affiliation.
The two have been drumming support for each other in the fast approaching April party primaries and most importantly, the August general elections.
However, what many are yet to decipher is the motivating factor behind the move.
This writer can now confidently reveal that the Talamuuge agreement that was reached in 2016 at a Nairobi hotel is the sole factor that brought the duo on the current political bench.
In early September last year, the pre-dominant Abuduwak clan opted for a communally negotiated democracy that saved the incumbent Duale from what could be stiff competition from aspirants within his own clan.
At one point, he was advised to vie at a less competitive capacity, where the Balambala constituency was the most preferred.
However, a section of clan elders resolved that the said seat carried less value than central Garissa Township.
This compelled the clan to exploit negotiations to address the situation, where Duale was fronted to defend his Garissa Township seat, Ali Korane named to battle out the incumbent Jama and Yussuf Haji to retain his present position.
This mean thet that governor and the women rep positions were to come from the Abuduwak clan while the deputy governor and the senator to hail from the Samawathal clans.
