We are all anxious as to what Raila means when he says that elections will not happen on the 26th.

Let me assure you that the elections shall indeed happen as I shall elaborate.

To begin with, Raila’s words of claiming there will be no elections have no authority. He does not hold any office of authority outlined in the constitution to declare such a statement and have it implemented. As far as the same constitution is concerned, Raila is a private citizen who happens to express his intention of vying for the seat of The President of the Republic of Kenya.

Raila is not the Attorney General. He is not the Chief Justice. He is not the Inspector General. He is not the Commander In Chief of the Armed forces. He is not the IEBC Chairman. He is not Chief of the Defence Forces. He is a simple private citizen like you and I.

The second reason why the elections shall happen, is the arrival of ballot papers from Dubai. This indicates that the process has indeed started and transportation of ballot papers is underway. As the old African saying goes…smoke never rises without fire.

Another reason why the elections shall happen is the Supreme Court judgment nullifying the August 8th poll. In the verdict, fresh elections where ordered within 60 days. The only body that has the mandate of doing so is the IEBC. The same IEBC has then proceeded to set the date of the repeat poll as being October 26th. This is within the 60 days set by the Supreme Court.

The fourth reason as to why the elections will go ahead as planned is very simple…Life must go on! The Kenyan Citizens have been held hostage since January.

January was the unofficial beginning of the campaign season. The whole year has been campaign after campaign, debate after debate, insults between aspirants, court cases and now a repeat poll. We as citizens demand a continuity of life. We want our lives back. We want our businesses to flourish again. We want travel advisories to be lifted. We want unity and harmony to resume in our country. We want a reason to be optimistic!

Make Kenya Great Again!

This election means more to William Ruto than to Uhuru. Ruto will make sure that the polls happen so he can start streamlining his campaign for 2022. Hon. Ruto will not allow his future to be jeopardized by Raila or any other court cases.

One is left to wonder what forces will be used by Ruto to guarantee such a win for Jubilee on the 26th.
