Election Observer Group (ELOG) has read a strongly worded statement that has called into serious question the credibility of the October 26 presidential election rerun.
Noting the low voter turnout, mixed messages from the IEBC, and the dominance of Jubilee agents, the group has said that it cannot authoritatively say that the rerun was credible.
''IEBC was under constant attack especially from the opposition which later withdrew from the election. In addition to that, the messaging from IEBC was unclear and confusing and affected confidence in the institution itself... On the basis of the above challenges, Elog concludes the existing environment was not conducive for conducting credible elections. Elog cannot authoritatively confirm whether the IEBC complied with all the directions of the Supreme Court.'' The statement read.
In a shocking revelation, ELOG said that there were irregularities such as forms not being signed and discrepancies in figures.
The statement is sure to trigger great anxiety within the Jubilee establishment as the findings could form the basis of a Supreme Court challenge to the October 26 rerun.
