Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama's recent remarks showed vividly he would support Wiper candidate Wavinya Ndeti for the gubernatorial seat in case of a by-election.

Muthama said Ndeti deserves being the Machakos governor since she is a renown county resident, unlike Mutua whose home can't be traced.

"We know Ndeti's home in Mua what about Mutua, we don't know him at all he's an outsider," Muthama said.

He spoke during an interview on a local radio on Sunday.

What is surprising is that Muthama preferred former Machakos Deputy Governor Benard Kiala for the gubernatorial position over Ndeti during the 2017 elections and even locked horns with Kalonzo for fronting the former Chama Cha Uzalendo leader and issuing her with a direct nomination.

Muthama still believes in Kiala and would wish he vies on a Wiper ticket if a by-election is conducted for the Machakos gubernatorial seat.

Word on the street has it that Muthama shifted his support to Mutua since he wants Kiala to be Ndeti's deputy in the by-election.

However, Muthama's request will put Kalonzo in a tight spot bearing in mind that Mathuki is Wavinya's deputy.

The big question is, will Kalonzo yield to Muthama's request or if he doesn't will his decision to retain Mathuki as Ndeti's deputy cause cracks in Wiper party?
