Former Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi has filed a petition seeking for the nullification of the election of new Governor Mohamed Abdi of Jubilee nullified.
According to the ex county boss, Abdi has not met the qualifications and he never won the election.
In the suit, the complainant argues that the governor has no academic qualifications to hold such a public office, as reported by a local daily.
In the petition, Ahmed and Muhumed Abdi accused the county boss of allegedly falsifying or altering the documents he had presented to the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC).
The two put the governor on spot for concealing his credentials, which they said is a clear demonstration of his incompetence to hold this office in the next five years as he pledged when taking the oath of office.
The complainants also said that the elections were marred by different malpractices including tallying among others serious errors.
In the meantime, Garissa Governor Ali Korane is also under siege after the former county boss Nathif Jama filed a petition seeking to dethrone him from the post. Jama claims he won fairly but his victory was stolen.
