Former NACADA boss John Mututho has landed a new job in Kiambu county.
Mututho has been appointed as an adviser to Governor Ferdinand Waititu.
The former Naivasha MP will be advising Waititu about the fight against illegal alcohol.
Last year, the county introduced the Kiambu County Alcoholic Drink Control Bill 2017 which proposes 21 years as the minimum age any person will be allowed to consume or even sell alcohol.
Currently, the legal drinking age in Kenya is 18 years.
The new laws are aimed at taming alcoholism in the county by making it illegal for a person to sell, supply or provide an alcoholic drink to a person under the age of 21 years.
Mututho unsuccessfully ran for the Nakuru gubernatorial seat and came a distant third behind eventual winner Lee Kinyanjui and former Governor Kinuthia Mbugua.
Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika congratulated Mututho on his new role.
"Congratulations Hon. John Mututho on your appointment as an advisor to Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.Wishing you all the best in your new responsibilities," she posted on Facdbook.
