[Photo: The Star]The results of October 26 presidential election is a foregone conclusion, veteran journalist and columnist Macharia Gaitho has said.Speaking to Citizen TV on Thursday evening, Gaitho said that President Uhuru Kenyatta will be declared winner and be sworn in and NASA coalition may not even bother to challenge his re-election in court. He, however, said that things will not be a smooth ride for the Jubilee administration in its second term, urging President Uhuru and NRM leader Raila Odinga to come together and forge for a national dialogue."It is pretty clear what awaits us beyond this election. President Uhuru Kenyatta who will definitely be sworn in for a second term, and Odinga must now put their differences aside and bring this country together because we have never been as divided as this before," said Gaitho. He warned that by doing nothing to reconcile the country as soon as elections hangovers are over, will be setting the country in a mode to 'explode in 2022'."I can guarantee you for sure that this country will witness a massive political explosion in 2022 such that 2007 will look like a joke. We must begin talking as soon as now," added Gaitho. The independent journalist noted that the cycle of violence that Kenya experiences after every five years are as a result of 'burying our heads in the sand instead of addressing the problems that keep on tearing our national fabric every electoral cycle'.
