Salat says that Moi is KANU’s candidate in 2022 and the party will not enter into any agreement with anyone.

According to Salat, anyone willing to work with Moi he or she must be ready to support his 202 2bid.

He said that that the party shelved its candidature in 2017 general election in support of president Uhuru Kenyatta and cannot afford to shelve it again in 022.

“Gideon Moi is our 2022 candidate and we will rally to ensure he succeeds president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022,” he said as quoted by a local daily.

Moi is among top politicians who have declared an interest in the top seat.

The Baringo senator candidature is, however, causing ripples in Deputy President William Ruto’s camp.

Ruto is also eyeing the top seat and see’s Gideon Moi’s for the seat as a spoiler.

A section of Rift Valley politicians has openly asked Moi to shelve his 202 2bid in support of DP Ruto.

Ruto’s political game plan has further been complicated following retired president Daniel Arap Moi meeting with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

There are speculations that Raila could be seeking to work with the Baringo senator as he plans to make another stab at the presidency.
