Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has been ordered to vacate an office located at the County Assembly of Baringo, which he has been occupying since 2013.
The 2022 prospective presidential candidate is said to have been ordered to leave the office due to limited office space at the County Assembly.
A notice, dated May 29, 2018, and signed by Assembly clerk Joseph Koech read: "I write to convey the Assembly Service Board decision that you have been served with the above notice. This is due to the ongoing construction within the assembly and due to the limited space available."
The notice said the contractor who is expected to rehabilitate the County Assembly may demolish the Speaker's office and this may limit working space at the Assembly.
About two months ago, MCAs allied to the ruling Jubilee party said the office should be vacated as it was idle.
They said some of the County Assembly Committees have no space to operate from and the Senator's office which they claimed was idle could be used to transact Committee business.
Nominated MCA Francis Kubai said the Senator is allocated a budget by the Parliamentary Service Commission to rent office room and so he should rent it somewhere else.
