Chances of Gideon Moi ever becoming President are next to zero. The current Baringo senator had his father as the second President of the Republic of Kenya almost two decades ago and Kenyans would still not be interested in electing the Moi family back to power.

We all know Gideon Moi has not been vocal since the retirement of his father. The rate at which he picks up politics to grow to a bigger position is very slow. For instance, it took him until 2013 to become a senator after serving as a Member of Parliament for a long period. This laxity is not promising with the fact that it is not easy to win a presidential race from a senatorial position. Predictably, after deciding to back up William Ruto come 2022, Gideon will be vying in the Baringo gubernatorial post.

Secondly, the gap between Gideon Moi and the public is very wide. Occupying the senatorial seat is not as advantageous as that of the governor. This has denied him popularity. On occasions he is present in state functions, meetings, and gatherings, Gideon is rarely given an opportunity to speak. This space is disadvantageous and can kill his political career.

Thirdly, Gideon's political party is not popular countrywide. Besides being the ruling party in his father's regime, KANU's fame has been diminishing all the way till now it cannot feature even up to top three most loved, popular Kenyan political parties. A party a candidate belongs to is one of the most important considerations and a fundamental determinant by a voter.

Additionally, Gideon comes from the Rift valley region which has a lower number of active registered voters compared to the Western and the central regions of Kenya. If he runs with another competitor from the same region, let us say Ruto, the region's votes will be divided, a great mischief in gaining victory.

This clearly portrays that in his current political position, Gideon Moi cannot will never make it to top four in a credible and fair presidential election.
