Gor Mahia’s plans of traveling to South Africa for their return leg of the CAF Confederations Cup hang in the balance, with the team forced to postpone their trip that was initially scheduled for Monday.
According to Chairman Ambrose Rachier, they are facing a myriad of challenges, with one of them being lack of tickets for the fixture.
Rachier says the club is yet to receive the tickets from the government, which catered for their transport in the last two continental fixtures.
“Up to now, the government has not said anything concerning the tickets. As a club, we don’t have money because as you know we don’t have sponsors,” lamented Rachier when he spoke to the media.
“They said that they will stick to the rule of issuing five days after the interviews and for us, we went last Thursday because we had a game in Machakos on Thursday. We have explained our situation and now we just wait to see whether we can get the visas tomorrow (Tuesday),”
Rachier added. The team had planned to travel on Monday night and train on Tuesday before the match on Wednesday.
