Local champions Gor Mahia also known as K’Ogalo face their biggest test of the CAF champions league as they face a Tunisian based club that is ranked the second team in African football clubs.
The Esperance football club has a good history against Gor Mahia as they won the tie four years ago at an aggregate of 8 – 2.
The champion’s league crunch tie will kick off at 3 pm at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos County.
Both teams have been in good 'form' as they won their respective league matches over the weekend.
Gor is making a return to the competition after failing to qualify for the club competition last year, Esperance is perennial participants in the CAF club competition and has won the champions league in 1994 and 2011 seasons.
However, there is a huge difference between the two sides when you compare the facilities, quality of players and even the level of competitiveness in the respective leagues the teams participate in.
Esperance have their own 60,000 capacity stadium and a gym facility while Gor has none. The African giants will be parading a squad worth Sh1.3billion.
Gor Mahia will pocket a Sh55 million if they go past the African giants and if they lose both the home and away matches they will still play in the CAF confederation cup.
