The government has placed a sh.1 million bounty on Mt. Elgon suspected killer pictured above following the current butchering and killings that have been witnessed in the region.
Mt Elgon constituency has recently been in the spotlight for cases of rape and murder of the locals.
Some locals have even been forced out of the region in efforts to seek safety in different areas.
Word has been going around that some prominent politicians have been colluding with criminals in the area to carry out the deadly killings.
The vice president William Ruto visited the area on the 25th of February.
In his speech, he warned the perpetrators of dire consequences owing to their actions and promised the locals that the Interior and Lands ministries would collaborate with the aim of reaching a permanent solution to the land dispute.
The Interior CS as well visited the area on Tuesday where he declared a 90-day 6 pm to 6 am curfew in Mt. Elgon area following the deadly killings.
Matiang'i as well promised a reshuffle of the police force in the region following the vice president's call for investigating, sacking and prosecuting security officers colluding with the criminals to carry out the killings.
"I have ordered IG Joseph Boinnet to carry out a total reshuffle of police in the region," Mr. Matiang'i said.
