The government through the Ministry of Health has breathed fire on a biscuit advert by Nuvita. Kepha Ombacho who is the director of public health ordered that billboards by the confectionary company reading ''A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand'' be brought down.Ombacho expressed concerns that the advert was misleading and running counter to the government's campaign against obesity “There are nutritional claims on billboards that some biscuits are ‘a balanced diet is a cookie in hand’. This claim has not been cleared for advertisement of the Ministry and therefore such advert must be brought down immediately and legal action taken against the owners,” Ombacho said according to a story by Citizen digital.Nuvita biscuits are very popular among kids and this directive is a big blow to the manufacturing company; it could potentially mean reduced profits.
