Governor Alfred Mutua has urged Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to drop his bid for the presidential seat in 2022 and instead support him.Mutua says that they will be spoiling for each other if they both contest for the presidential seat in 2022.Speaking to journalists in Machakos Town on Saturday, the governor said that Kalonzo who is expected to fly the NASA ticket should step down for him to enable him (Mutua) clinch the seat.Mutua said that he is the best-suited candidate from the Kamba community to contest for the seat."I will negotiate with my friend Kalonzo to step down for me in 2022 so that we can increase chances of winning the presidential seat in 2022 as the Kamba community," he said.Governor Mutua said that Kalonzo remains his political mentor despite their political differences.He said that its time Kamba politicians and leaders worked together for the interests of the community.He observed that the region has suffered for decades because of disunity.Governor Mutua, who decamped from Kalonzo's party and formed his own Maendeleo Chap Chap party has declared an interest in the presidential seat in 2022.Kalonzo is also expected to be on the ballot flying the NASA ticket as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) he signed with NASA leader Raila Odinga.
