Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has asked residents to vote out Governor Alfred Mutua in the August 8 polls.
Makau says that Governor has done nothing for residents to deserve re-election.
Speaking during a campaign tour in Athi River on Tuesday, Makau accused governor Mutua of deceiving residents with over-ambitious manifestos in the run up to the 2013 general election.
He said that the governor promised what he himself knew he could not fulfill. Makau claimed that the county’s economy has deteriorated under governor Mutua’s watch.
He said that the cost of doing business in the county too high and has pushed small scale traders out of business.
The Wiper Party MP also cited unemployment which he said remains a serious challenge to the development of the county.
“Governor Mutua is a failure who should not be seeking re-election for a send term,” he said.
Makau urged residents to be wise and vote for leaders who have their interests at heart.
The MP drummed support for Wiper party governor hopeful Wavinya Ndeti saying the former Kathiani MP can deliver is granted opportunity.
He said that Ndeti has the interests of the people at heart compared to Governor Alfred Mutua.
The Mavoko MP urged residents not to be blinded by Governor Mutua’s alleged Public Relations and publicity stunts and instead send him packing for failing to deliver.
The Machakos governor race has been dubbed a two horse race between Mutua and Ndeti.
Governor Mutua who is seeking re-election on Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party has exuded confidence retaining the seat on August 8.
Others in the Machakos governor race are deputy governor Bernard Kiala vying as an independent candidate and Lemi Muia contesting on Jubilee Party ticket.
