Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang' Nyong'o [Photo|Anyang Nyong'o]Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang' Nyong'o has expressed disappointment over delay in disbursement of county funds by the National government.Speaking during an interview at the ongoing induction meeting of governors and their deputies from the country's 47 counties, Nyong'o said the discourse should be revisited.Nyong'o and his Deputy Dr Ochieng Owili arrived in Kwale county for the induction meeting on     Wednesday."I think it is important that we revisit the discourse of development funding especially in situations like this where the National government delays the funds for so long," said Nyong'o on     Thursday morning.The theme of the 3-day workshop is "Better governance and accountability for ultimate devolution dividends to all Kenyans".The meeting will see the county bosses dissecting and being taken through key topics of discussion ranging from public financial management, intergovernmental relations, county planning and performance management for effective and efficient service delivery to the role of development partners in devolution.Some of the panelists that will take them through these areas of interest include Diarietou Gaye - Country Director World Bank, Ishmail Fahmy - CEO Water Services Trust fund, Dr Ludeki Chweya - Director Kenya School of Government, Sarah Serem of SRC among other professionals.The workshop will form the basis of which the governors and their deputies will run operations in their respective counties.
