Kisii Governor James Ongwae is facing a major headache in choosing an ideal  running mate who can help him deliver victory, observes political analyst Nyachieo Bogonko.

Ongwae's current deputy, Joash Maangi, has since joined Jubilee Party and has since announced his intention to run for gubernatorial seat.

And Bogonko now says Ongwae's decision to drag naming of Maangi's replacement is due to still political competition awaiting him in August.

"He is a worried man because his ideal candidate must appeal to the public and must be someone who can help him deliver victory early enough," he says.

Bogonko adds: "It is difficult for him at the moment because all seasoned politicians have been having issues with him for the last four years."

Ongwae's closest competitor Chris Obure has already named seasoned Bomachoge politician Albert Nyaundi as his running mate ahead of August,
