The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection through State Department of Social Protection has started enrollment of Kenyans aged 70-years.
The County Government of Mombasa, in a reminder, alerted residents that the enrollment kicked-off Monday 16th - Friday 27th April, 2018.
"Beneficiaries to open bank account where their monthly stipend will be paid by government. The four banks the beneficiary can choose to open account are: Co-op Bank Kenya, Equity Bank Kenya, Postbank Kenya or KCB Group," read the reminder in part.
The process of validation and enrolment include:
Step 1: Validation Process
•The beneficiaries will be required to vistw the mobilization centre during the validation period. They will be expected to carry their original IDs.
•Ministry officers present will confirm the correctness of the beneficiaries’ names and details captured on the list.
•The beneficiary will then proceed to select the bank of their choice and start the enrolment process.
*Step 2: Enrollment Process
•Beneficiary select bank of their choice
•Bank to confirm beneficiary has not opened an account with another PSP.
•Bank to document beneficiary bio-data and obtain copies of the beneficiary ID.
•Beneficiary details validated against the check list provided by Ministry.
•Bank opens account for beneficiary.
•Beneficiary provided with their ATM card.If the targeted persons registered in July - August 2017 (in Mombasa), they are advised to visit the nearest Social Development Sub-County offices to open a bank account.
They include:
1.Nyali and Kisauni - Kongowea Deputy County Commissioners office.
2.Changamwe - Changamwe Fire Station.
3.Jomvu - Changamwe Deputy County Commissioners office.
4.Likoni - Likoni CDF office.
5.Mvita - Bima Towers 6th Floor.
They are also advised to inquire at a nearby chief's office.
Labour and Social Protection CS Ukur Yattani, on Friday said the government had registered 523,129 (229,346 men and 330,701 women) senior citizens for its cash transfer programme dubbed Inua Jamii.
