NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga has responded on why he harshly lectured Education and acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i while campaigning in Kibra on Tuesday.
While in Kibra Odinga spoke harshly towards Matiang'i terming him as a man behind plans to rig the August 8, polls because of manipulating IEBC officials despite the commission being independent.
On Thursday, while addressing the press at his Capitol Hill offices, the former Prime Minister spoke in response to Wednesday sentiments from President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto who warned him to stop hitting on Matiang'i and concentrate on his main rivals(Uhuru and Ruto).
Odinga said he deliberately hit on Matiang'i because he believes in the Swahili saying that if you want to know the owner of the dog just hit the dog and the owner will speak out.
"I saw Uhuru and Ruto chest thumping in Mombasa that I should leave Matiangi alone. Waswahili husema ukitaka kujua mwenye mbwa ni nani chapa umbwa halafu mwenye umbwa atatoka tuliona jana," said Odinga.
Hence, in a way, Odinga was referring to the replies from Ruto and Uhuru as a clear indication that Matiang'i was working from their orders.
