The DP has since offered himself for the job, keenly looking to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta who is nearing his retirement, a move that has been endorsed by a section of leaders allied to the ruling Jubilee Party, led by those hailing from his Rift Valley region.

However, speaking on AM Live Tuesday morning, Midiwo poked holes into Ruto's candidature, stating that he is totally against the deputy head of state's Presidential ambition.

Citing the continuation of graft scandals in the government co-led by the DP, the former ex-National Assembly Deputy Minority Whip noted that the situation is likely to worsen should the nation fail to obtain a fresh leadership.

''I am not against Ruto as a person but I doubt his leadership skills as the government which he co-leads has been unable to tame graft and other harmful trends experienced by the nation. I am a critic of the growing corruption in the government,'' said the leader.

Midiwo is cousin to opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga who is also likely to join the race after 4 unsuccessful attempts previously.
