Ex – Wiper Democratic Party Secretary General Hassan Omar has come out open on his relationship with Deputy President William Ruto.

Prior to his resignation from the opposition, Omar was fighting claims of secretly working with Jubilee to dwindle chances of opposition team ahead of August elections.

And in Mombasa on Sunday, Omar hailed Ruto as his mentor whom he admired his style of politics when still at Moi University.

“When I lost elections, none of NASA principals even called me to say something, but there is one man who called to share with me,” he said, pointing at DP Ruto.

Omar added:” When I voted first (1997), even though I supported Charity Ngilu, I still hard to vote for Ruto in Eldoret North parliamentary seat.”

By then, the DP was a top chief campaigner of retired President Daniel Moi, who had introduced him to politics in 1992 though YK92 wing.

Omar lost in Mombasa governorship to Hassan Joho and has since launched a petition which he describes as ‘concrete’.
