The season of inaugurations is hitting the country as duly-elected governors are being sworn into office across the nation as their five-year term at the helm of county leadership begins.

However, it was interesting to note that despite, many ceremonies taking place around the country and mostly where opposition coalition NASA won a gubernatorial seat from Kisumu, Siaya, Kakamega or even Makueni. NASA leader Raila Odinga only attended the inauguration ceremony of Mombasa governor Hassan Joho.

The opposition chief has thus revealed the reason behind setting foot only at the self-proclaimed coastal 'sultan' inauguration and not any other.

Odinga said he attended Joho's event because he(Joho) has turned out to be the most courageous and able leader in opposition added to the fact that he(Raila) has been mentoring the governor since he first stepped into politics during the Kisauni by-election after the death of former local authorities minister Mr Karisa Maitha.

The former Prime Minister praised Joho's resilience and his frequent desire to seek advice from him even before he went for the gubernatorial seat in 2013.

Odinga also said he had to attend the ceremony as a way of saying thank you for the over 80 percent turn out in voters that the county residents showed him in the August 8 polls.

During his address, Odinga urged Kenyans to desist from the culture of accepting and moving on. He has contested the presidential results at the Supreme Court.
