The 12 parliament is not officially opened but the elected members are already hitting the headlines on matters salary.
The wave was initiated by Homa Bay Woman Rep Glady Wanga, when she said they are going to challenge the Salary and Renumeration Commission over their pay cut from Sh710,000 to Sh625,000.
However, while speaking on Citizen TV on Wednesday night, Mbita MP-elect Millie Odhiambo supported Wanga's sentiments saying they go through a lot hence a pay cut is not welcome.
"I was spending between Sh500toSh 1 Million a day campaigning..I can’t support the pay cut," she said.
"I spend at least Ksh 200K per week on funerals..I can’t support the pay cut," she added.
Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso who was also present at the televised discourse also supported Millie's sentiments.
