Machakos County boss Dr Alfred Mutua has revealed what made him shun NASA and support Jubilee’s second term in power.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader explained why he did not support his political mentor Kalonzo Musyoka who is Raila Odinga’s deputy in the opposition lineup.
He said that decision was arrived at after immense discussion on the position of MCC after the August 8, polls."And since we have no presidential candidate in this year's election, we decided to give you (President Uhuru Kenyatta) another term," Mutua said as quoted by Tuko.Dr Mutua also praised President Uhuru Kenyatta for his great development record. He said the free maternity program, road network, electricity connectivity and empowerment of the youths are some of the issues that make Uhuru deserve a second term in office."The country has not witnessed such empowerment of the youth with setting up of polytechnics at least in every constituency-like it is the case today. This is a government with a score card," said Mutua. The governor acknowledged the corruption challenge but lauded the manner in which President Uhuru has handled it. He said that the president is a clean man as far as corruption is concerned."Yes, we agree there have been issues with corruption. But you (Uhuru) have come out against it and every Kenyan knows you are a clean man."
