Our writer spoke to him on why he joined Maendeleo Chap Chap. According to Kioko,The first reason why he has joined Maendeleo Chap Chap is because he believes Maendeleo Chap Chap will Deliver.

"Growing up in Minyalala village Machakos in a nonpolitical family I was always a little bit conflicted with the political parties, and never really learnt about any third option until after devolution when I found that transformational development can be local."

"Maendeleo Chap Chap stands for the core values that I believe in; which for me are far more important than individual political opinion. I found politics exasperating, because I felt that it was too full of division and selfishness. I wondered how service to the electorate ever got done! I decided to step in and change things."

"Our world is becoming a global village yet our attitudes to Government, society and the environment doesn't seem to have kept pace with technological improvements. The only thing that has managed to transform Machakos was the ideologies that gave birth to Maendeleo Chap Chap party." Kioko explains.

Thirdly, according to Henry, Maendeleo Chap Chap supports Governments that are committed to collaboratively working with others and Leaders who respect women and empower the youth."

"It's about being open-minded as well, and never being afraid of new ideas. One of the most dangerous phrases uttered in history is: "But I've always done it that way!" because it's a phrase that symbolises complete unwillingness to try anything new; and it's the complete opposite of what the Maendeleo Chap Chap democrats and I believe in," Kioko adds.

"History has shown that when confronted with something different, one of two things happens. People either try to destroy it, or to embrace it. It would be a very boring world if we were all the same, so I choose to accept and embrace difference.

"Maendeleo Chap Chap leadership shares my belief for fairness, inclusion and respect to others; which promotes diversity."

"Maendeleo Chap Chap has pointed towards the transformational direction and it's commitment to getting on with the task. As a progressive legislator this appeals to me the most," he adds.
