Meru gubernatorial aspirant and President Uhuru Kenyatta's adviser on education matters Kilemi Mwiria has revealed why he decamped from Jubilee Party and joined Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua's Maendeleo Chap Chap party.Kilemi spoke on Thursday on national Tv where he claimed that Jubilee party was planning to dupe him over the nomination ticket."I must say I have not betrayed the president, on the contrary, I am supporting him greatly. This idea of putting everybody in one political party has made it very difficult for other potential aspirants to have an opportunity to contest an election," said Kilemi. The academician sighted some underhands deal by Igembe South MP Mithika Linturi and Senator Kiraitu Murungi to dupe him."First of all there is nothing wrong to say you were duped when you realise you are, I went to the election and I can tell you Mithika and Kiraitu played games (rigged) and made sure the people who got the main seats for Jubilee Meru are people who are close to them. The chairman, secretary general of Jubilee Meru was also chairman, secretary general of Kiraitu's party," said Kilemi."How do you expect the people that organise my rigging and now I am contesting against the same person. If he can rig for someone else why won't he rig for himself," he added. However, Kilemi revealed that in making the decision to ditch Jubilee Party for Maendeleo Chap Chap he had done so in consultation with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
