Tana River Governor Hussein Dado has said that he defected from former vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka-led party because he was sure he will not be named the National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer ahead of the forthcoming general polls.

Dado, who defected to Jubilee said that Kalonzo leadership is questionable. "I could not stay in such a house because there is no day Kalonzo will be the flag bearer,” said the county boss, as quoted by Star.

Dado also said that Kalonzo was unable to prevent leaders from defecting from the alliance while citing the case of Machakos County boss Dr Alfred Mutua who formed Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement."He lost [Machakos] Governor Alfred Mutua - now Maendeleo Chap Chap leader - and seven MPs," he claimed.

Dado, who spoke during a meeting at Oda in Garsen constituency on Tuesday, also questioned why the opposition had taken months to name their presidential candidate only to front Raila for the seat.

"There was nothing new they offered by making Raila (ODM) the flag bearer," he added.

Dado will be defending his seat on  Jubilee after walking away from Kalonzo a few months ago.

Meanwhile, NASA Leader has claimed that they will take part in August elections unless IEBC agrees to their demands.
