Opposition leader Raila Odinga, has maintained that his National Super Alliance (Nasa), will not participate in the October 17 presidential election, if the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), does not hold accountable officials who played part in a 'shambolic' August 8 election.

He said he would boycott the repeat presidential election unless IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati does not sack a list of people that Nasa made public, starting with CEO Ezra Chiloba, who heads the Commission's Secretariat.

The Supreme Court annulled President Uhuru Kenyatta's August 8 win, after Nasa petitioned, contesting that Uhuru was not dully elected. On September 1, the court ordered for fresh presidential election in 60 days.

The officials include:1. Ezra Chiloba - Chief Executive Officer (CEO).2. Immaculate Kassait - Director Voter Registration.3. Prof Abdi Yakub Guliye - Commissioner in charge of ICT.4. Praxidis Tororey - Head of Legal Affairs.5. Ms Betty Nyabuto - Deputy CEO in charge of Operations.6. James Muhati - ICT Director.

According to him, the named "were co-conspirators in these criminal schemes" and that "they must face criminal prosecution."

IEBC chairman Chebukati later made changes to the Commission, and appointed six new staff to oversee the presidential election. In the new changes, Chebukati appointed the following officials in a project team ahead of the October 17 fresh presidential election.1. Marjan Hussein Marjan - Project Coordinator.2. Dr Sidney Namulungu - Head of Operations.3. Nancy Kariuki - Head of Logistics.4. Bernard Misati Moseti - Head of Training.5. Albert Gogo - Head of ICT, under supervision of the National Returning Officer (Chebukati).6. Silas Rotich - Head of the National tallying centre. In a communication, Tuesday evening, Chebukati indicated the appointments take immediate effect "and will last for a period of 3 months."However, Raila said the new changes were not enough, adding that the future of Chiloba at the Commission, was not made open.Flanked by Musalia Mudavadi, James Orengo, among other Nasa leaders, he was speaking in Nairobi on Thursday after receiving delegations from Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi and Isiolo, who defected from Jubilee Party.
