Narok North MP Moitalel ole Kenta has said that he skipped a function presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta in his constituency because he was not invited.
Kenta said that he decided to keep the function a wide berth after the organisers failed to involve him in the preparations.
“The event was private and I could not force myself to a function meant for few people. How can the head of state visit my constituency without informing me and I am the only TNA MP elected in the county?" he posed.
President Kenyatta was in Narok for the homecoming party of the newly appointed Geothermal Development Corporation (GDC) managing director Engineer Johnson ole Nchoe.
The MP's absence forced Interior and National coordination Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery to apologise to the President saying that the legislator's absence was a sign of disrespect.
“I am disappointed that the area MP did not attend a function presided over by the president and ,on behalf of the community, I would like to apologise to the head of state for the behaviour demonstrated by the legislator,” Nkaisssery said.
