Former Kakamega senator Bonny Khalwale has drummed up support for NASA leader Raila Odinga as he takes on the ruling Jubilee party.

Addressing opposition supporters at Nairobi's Upperhill area Friday, after the alliance's attempts to hold a rally in the reception of Odinga who had just arrived from the United States were quashed by the police, the leader expressed trust and belief in Raila's leadership qualities and ability.

He further declared his support for the former Prime Minister's presidential bid terming him as a visionary leader with a good intention for the country.

''I stand with and support Raila Odinga because he is the right person we need to lead our country.I and my people believe that such a person cannot take the nation in the wrong direction,'' said Khalwale who unsuccessfully vied for the Kakamega county top post in the August general polls.

Also present was Siaya senator and Odinga's close confidant James Orengo who said that the alliance is keen on ensuring that Raila takes the top post.

''We are sure and strongly believe that in the end, Odinga will become the President,'' said the senior counsel.

This, however, comes at a time when NASA is resorting to alternative routes to unseat the current government after it (Jubilee) was declared the winner in the October polls.
