Former Nyeri senator Mutahi Kagwe says he would like to see ODM leader Raila Odinga run for president in 2022 adding that it is unlikely Mr Odinga will retire from politics any time soon.
"I cannot see a situation where Raila Odinga is not going to run for a political office, in fact, I will hate to think of a situation where he is not running for political office," said Kagwe.
The former senator said Odinga is now ripe for Kenyan leadership despite being 72-year-old, he can still run for office in 2022 and should not be discriminated based on age or tribe.
"If you look at the behavior of Raila lately he is an elder statesman and if you ask me he has been extremely presidential, so for me as a Kenyan I would like to see Raila run for the presidency in the next election," he said.
"In a nutshell let us think beyond ourselves and tribe one of the things Kenyans should remember is that there is not a single person who voted to be in one tribe," he added.
Odinga has unsuccessfully vied for the top seat four times with the latest coming in the year 2017 where he once again lost to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
