Nairobi senator Mike Sonko has revealed what made him go for the city top seat.
Speaking during a live interview, Sonko confirmed his sure win in the coming polls. He said he will trounce the incumbent Evans Kidero and independent candidate Miguna Miguna.
The flamboyant senator revealed that the suffering people go through in the city and poor leadership are some of the reasons he decided to take on Kidero.
Sonko said that Nairobians suffer most despite being the highest tax payers in East Africa. He promised to deal with insecurity that claims lives of innocent Kenyans, uniformed officers as well as the criminals. The gubernatorial aspirant said he will continue supporting youths who voluntarily surrender their illegal arms.
Garbage collection will also be a priority to him after a win that he claims is sure of in August. He said that there is a firm that will purchase waste from residents then use it to produce other useful products like power. Sonko also said under his rein, traffic jams will be history.
Bad leadership is another factor that made Mbuvi invest in gubernatorial politics. He accused the sitting governor Evans Kidero of mismanaging public funds. He said corruption will not be part of his leadership.
