Despite mounting pressure to have talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta, opposition leader Raila Odinga maintains that he will not call to convince Uhuru to dialogue with him.
United States, UK and a section of European countries have added their voice on need for the two leaders to dialogue to end ongoing political crisis that could plunge the country to a constitutional crisis.
At IEBC headquarters on Thursday, a willing Odinga however, said he is ready to have talks on mechanisms that the country should use to have credible elections.
“We are open to talks any time and we are ready to give solutions. I will not take my phone and call Uhuru because he says I am desperate,” said Odinga, who has already bolted out of the race to State House.
Contrary to his demands, he said, Jubilee has insisted that he is only after formation of the grand coalition government, an idea he insists has never come to his mind.
“They usually say that I want a grand coalition government yet I am not interested at all. I only want us to talk on how to conduct free and fair elections.”
With only six days to October 26th polls, already one commissioner, Roselyn Akombe has resigned with chairman Wafula Chebukati also casting doubts about a free and fair poll.
