Thoya rubbished claims by a section of senior county officials that he has plans to vie for a seat in Kilifi County in the upcoming polls.

He said he wants to prove that he is a good public servant before deciding whether he can venture into the field of politics in the coming years or not.

He admitted that a section of residents from different parts of Kilifi have approached him asking him to vie for a parliamentary seat in the county.

He, however, said he has shelved his dreams until an undisclosed time in the future.

The county secretary said there is a lot of work he has to do for the people of Mombasa before thinking about politics.

“I am known in Mombasa more than Kilifi. I have no interest in any Kilifi seat now and my time to vie for a political seat has not reached. I believe I still have a lot of room to help the people of Mombasa and work for them and show them that I can be a good public servant," he said, as quoted by the Star.
