New Democrats Party candidate Mr David Masika has said that he won’t file a suit contesting the re-election of Makueni Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana because he lost in a free and fair manner.

The lawmaker said that he has consulted his lawyers and was advised to change his tune over the matter. He was speaking on Wednesday in Mwaani Village near Wote Town during a burial ceremony. Kibwana, a Wiper Governor, was among the attendants.

"On Thursday, this team of lawyers advised us that we do not have enough grounds to build a case because the Makueni governorship poll was free and fair," he said, as quoted by Nation.

The outspoken politician also promised to work with the incumbent governor during the next five years in power for the sake of his people.

"Going forward, we shall support Governor Kibwana to deliver on his mandate," he said.

Masika has said that he will seek for legal redress following his loss before he changed his mind. On his part, Kibwana has asked his opponents to join him in rebuilding the county after a tough political contest.
