The national poll body,the Interim Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has once again promised to ensure that the forthcoming August 8 general elections are spotless saying that it is more determined than ever to achieve the same.
According to one of its commissioners,Roselyn Akombe,the commission is ready to go to any legal extent to deliver good results not only because that is what is demanded of it by the law but also in honor of its slain ICT manager Chris Msando.
''We as the IEBC are determined to do this not only for the sake of Kenyans who have entrusted us with the job and the law which mandates us to deliver free and transparent elections but also for the sake of Chris.He always wanted to be part of a team that delivers and we are going to give him that,'' said Akombe.
Akombe who was speaking in an interview on Citizen TV Tuesday also assured Kenyans that no vacuum has been left in the ICT department following Msando's departure.
She said that there are other able officials in the department who will help with in achieving the goal.
''The ICT department has a director and other staff who are already picking up from where Msando left it.They are equaly able to deliver the best results,'' she said.
Msando's body was discovered at the Nairobi's City Mortuary on Monday 31 July and had been reportedly taken there by police officers on Saturday after being retrieved from a thicket in Nguriunditu area in Kiambu county.
