The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is a body that holds the future of our beloved motherland in its palms. Kenya will prosper if voters experience and see a free, fair and transparent election.
On the other, our beautiful nation will collapse and possibly die if the process of electing our Head of State is fraudulent. Wafula Chebukati and his team must ensure that they obey Kenyans and freedom fighters as opposed to worshiping political gods in Jubilee or NASA.
IEBC has a responsibility of proving that we have Kenyans who can sacrifice their lives for the sake of other Kenyans. The presidential results are the only thorny issue that Chebukati has to handle bearing in mind the future of his grandchildren.
We still have 2007/2008 ghosts haunting us. IDPs are still suffering 9 years after the violence yet the true beneficiaries of the tribal confrontations are filling their pockets with millions.
Even those who were resettled have psychological damage that cannot be reversed. The IEBC must ensure that we do not have a replica of the same by announcing real figures as opposed to cooked sums that contradict their register.
If the presidential papers printing tender is the fuel that will burn Kenya, IEBC must sort the mess before we go the Rwandan way.
