Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi has said that there will be no repeat presidential election on October 26 in his constituency since NASA presidential flag bearer  Raila Odinga will not be on the ballot.

The Wiper Party MP says that residents will not be voting since they have no candidate to vote for.

In an interview with NTV on Monday, the legislator claimed  that Raila's withdrawal from the repeat poll means there is no election.

He said that his constituency is an opposition zone adding that they can only vote if Odinga is on the ballot and if IEBC fully addresses NASA's electoral concerns.

The MP blamed the IEBC for Raila's withdrawal from the repeat presidential poll.

"IEBC refusal to implement electoral reforms is to blame for the political stalemate being experienced in the country today," he said during an interview on NTV on Monday.

He claimed that IEBC is opposed to electoral reforms and is not keen on overseeing free, fair and credible repeat election as ordered by the Supreme Court.

The legislator at the same time said that NASA's push for electoral reforms through street demonstrations is unstoppable.

He warned the police against using excessive force on peaceful demonstrators stating that police officers who are responsible for the alleged killing of peaceful NASA protesters in Kisumu should be arrested and legal action taken against them.

The MP urged NASA supported to remain calm as they agitate for electoral reforms.

NASA leader Raila  Odinga withdrew from the October 26 repeat poll last week and says that there will be no repeat election unless thorough electoral reforms are implemented.

The opposition is pushing for electoral reforms through daily anti-IEBC protests.
