Kilifi Governor hopeful Kazungu Kambi has begged residents to support his bid staying he is the right candidate for the post.
Speaking in Kilifi on Tuesday, Kambi said he has a vision for the residents.
The Kadu Asili governor hopeful said that if given an opportunity he will transform the county into an economic center.
The former Labour CS said that his development will be felt in the first 100 days if elected governor.
He said that he has managerial experience that will help him run county affairs.
“Kilifi people will have themselves to blame if they fail to endorse my gubernatorial bid on August 8,” he said as quoted by the People Daily.
Kambi said that he will bring alternative leadership especially in management and use of public resources.
He said that Kilifi people have been shortchanged by Governor Amason Kingi’s government in terms of resource allocation.
Kambi vowed to stem out corrupt leaders if he is elected.
He claimed that corruption has prevented Kilifi people from enjoying the fruits of devolution.
The former CS asked residents to vet aspirants eyeing seats before voting them on August 8.
He also urged locals to remain peaceful before, during and after the August 8 polls.
Kambi is eyeing to unseat Kingi who is seeking re-election on ODM ticket.
Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro and James Kahindi are also in the gubernatorial race.
Mung’aro is vying on Jubilee Party ticket while Kahindi is contesting as an independent candidate.
