Kiala argues that if it were not for him, Machakos County would have lost a lot of resources under the leadership of governor Mutua.

The outspoken politician adds that he acted as a whistle blower in Mutua’s government only for the people to label him traitor.

“I was there when the people of Machakos needed me the most. If I was a selfish leader, I would have kept quiet and just watched as things go wrong. Instead, I chose to speak out and, because of that, the ‘system’ labeled me a traitor,” Kiala says, as quoted by Star.

The deputy has also affirmed that he will deal with corrupt officials once he rises to power after the forthcoming general elections.

He has also been accusing Mutua of failing to keep various promises he made to the people of Machakos while seeking power in 2013.

On his part, Mutua has promised Kiala a run for his money. The governor believes that his performance scoreboard makes him better placed to retain the seat despite parting ways with Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka citing mistreatment.
