A pregnant woman[photo/supamamas.co.ke]In the modern day society, some peculiar statements that Kenyans are fond of using such among many others; “She trapped him by getting herself pregnant” or “I was never meant to get married and have children so young in life”. Somehow, when many Kenyans hear these statements they are able to make sense of their meaning. One is always left wondering how a girl who got herself pregnant could trap a man if the man had nothing to do with it, as that statement implies.
But these are not even the most confounding behavior that we have witnessed amongst our citizenry. The craziest is when a person denies a child that she or he knows has sired. The truth is that many of these people shun their responsibilities because they know they can get away with it.
Nobody cares if a woman gets pregnant and the man who got her pregnant shuns her. That’s her problem. What was she thinking to get pregnant? Hasn’t she ever heard of contraceptives? And so what if your young wife is lazy and wants to be babied? What were you thinking marrying her? Our society has evolved into an individualistic, everyman-for-himself-and-God-for-us-all society as far as our family problems are concerned.
Nonetheless, the most effective way to eliminate enemies from your life is to take responsibility for everything that you have done in your past and that you are doing now. Once you take responsibility, nobody can harm you. If you get a woman pregnant, accept the responsibility. If you are married, accept the responsibility.
