The poll, according to the report, was conducted between July 28-31 covering 538 registered voters from 8 sub-counties.

While Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama has not stated publicly that he will go for Mutua's seat, Chama cha uzalendo, CCU party leader Wavinya Ndeti has declared publicly her interest in the seat.

Going by her recent insinuation about joining Cord, the race will narrow down to two,t hat is if she joins and runs on a Cord ticket.

Mutua's Maendeleo Chap Chap party is closer to Jubilee than Cord. Any other person who will vie for the post using a different party, apart from the two, will be thinned out by the massive influence and wave that Jubilee and Cord enjoy.

This will make the race a two horse race.
