The world likes “normal”, society will praise and lionize “normal” people; those who are predictable and conformable to the status quo.

People have preconceived ideas of how a “normal” person should be like, what a “normal” relationship calls for, the agreeable age to marry/get married, or have kids, what a “normal” husband or wife should do and generally, what a “normal” day should entail. Well that’s alright because truly speaking, there is comfort in “normal”.

When you are different, think and act differently, you’ll be castigated, taunted and spurned, not because they don’t like you but because they don’t know what to expect from you…

…because you could do what they couldn’t do, because you could shake the societal strata, cause a realignment and force a new world order.

See, people don’t like that very much!

On the brighter side though, the world’s most outstanding innovations were not discovered by “normal” people but those who were not afraid to veer off the conventional lane at the risk of being considered misfits…those who were not just like somebody else, but different.

Steve Jobs, Thomas Edison, Marie Curie, Nicola Tesla, Benjamin Franklin, Leonardo da Vinci, Galieo Galilie among others risked being considered weirdos in their resolve to change the world.

So don’t be happy being a “normal” person, the world already has enough of them.
